Emily Blinzig is an experienced Estate Planning and Probate attorney who graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society, and the Golden Key Honor Society. She obtained her law degree from the University of Tulsa in 2012, where she was a Phi Delta Phi International Fraternity member, and where she also served as the Secretary of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Although she is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, Emily now calls Springfield her home, where she lives with her husband and their two daughters. Emily and her husband became members of “The Lucky Few” when their oldest daughter was born with Down Syndrome. As a beautiful and vibrant child with Down Syndrome, she has inspired Emily to further focus her law practice on Special Needs Trusts, Guardianships and Conservatorships, and other areas of advocacy for persons with different abilities.

Emily enjoys serving the community, and has volunteered frequently with the Missouri Attorney General’s Veterans Will Workshops, as well as volunteering for various legal clinics providing pro bono services for low-income individuals. In 2019, she was recognized with 2 Pro Bono Service Awards for her volunteer service. In addition to serving in legal clinics, Emily enjoys meeting with Seniors when she gives presentations about Estate Planning and Powers of Attorney at Senior Centers, Assisted Living Centers, and at other community events.

Emily is also active in the legal community and is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Southern Missouri Women Lawyer’s Association. She served on the board of directors for the Southern Women’s Lawyer’s Association from 2019-2022. In 2021, she was featured as a guest speaker at Washington University Law School in a seminar about career development legal networking. She has also presented at the National Business Institute at several seminars on the topics of Probate and Estate Planning.

When not working, Emily loves spending time with her family, and enjoys the beauty of the Ozarks while hiking, kayaking and camping. She is also enjoys being active in the Down Syndrome community.
